FLUFFY AT PLANET
Planet Comic Con 2023
Hello Fluffy subscribers! I hope you are all doing well. I know I am looking forward to some warmer weather. And Thunderstorms! Yes, thunderstorms. I love a good storm, tornado warnings and all.
I wanted to take a moment and talk about Planet Comic Con. This was my second time being behind a table at Planet. However, it was the first time that I had my own actual space and Fluffy Protector was available at this show. The reception was wonderful! Thank you so much to all of you who came by to check out the Fluffy merch and listen to me talk about my crazy cat. Also, thank you to those of you who shared with me about your crazy cats as well. I love hearing all the cat stories. And of course a very special thank you to new followers and a HUGE THANK YOU to those of you who bought some merch.
Doing shows can be very exhausting and at times overwhelming. Planet especially since it is a three day show. Four if you count setting up on the day before the show starts. It is so worth it though when you get to meet great people. From the fans to the other creators at the show it really is exciting and encouraging. I was very pleased with my booth location and felt pretty good about how my table and area looked. Any feedback would be much appreciated. I already have ideas and new things in store for future shows. Especially for Planet 2024.
Lastly I wanted to share with you some of the top highlights for me personally from the show. Number one is I had a returning fan, customer and now friend from Fountain City Comic Con stop by. I was saddened though to learn that his kitty that I had the pleasure to meet at Fountain had passed away. I was honored though that when they bought my sketchbook I was asked to draw a memorial to their kitty.
Secondly I had the great pleasure of meeting and sharing Fluffy with Damien Leone and David Howard Thornton. Damien is the director of the movies Terrifier and Terrifier 2. David is the actor who plays Art the Clown from the movies. As you may or may not know I am a huge horror fan. The Terrifier movies are some of the best and most original newer movies in the horror genre. Art the Clown has already set a new bar for horror villain icons. I had done a version of Fluffy as Art the Clown for my new sketchbook and when I saw that the these two guys were going to be at the show I really hoped I would have the chance to give them each a copy! I got the opportunity and it was awesome! I gave both of them a copy of the sketchbook with a new original Fluffy Art the Clown sketch inside each of them. I got to visit with each of them for a few and they both really seemed to enjoy the sketchbook.
Thank you again for all your support and encouragement! You all are awesome! Stay tuned as a lot more Fluffy info will be coming at you. My goal is to have a new post for you weekly. I have a lot of great Fluffiness for you, including wrapping up the second and third parts of the comic story. Also I am looking into setting up a good way to sell merch online.
